A Dream Come True
Years ago, when Frank Minear Jr. was a young teenager, he experienced a moment that led to his passion. In Frank’s words…
My mother encouraged me to pursue “recession-proof” employment. I came from a family of six kids and a single mom working hard to raise us.
When I was 15, I got a job as a dishwasher at the Circle Restaurant in Deerfield, Ohio. During a Friday night fish fry, I saw the cook flip an egg on a flat griddle without breaking it. That that was just the coolest thing! I’ve been hooked ever since!
Frank studied Restaurant Management at the Maplewood Joint Vocational School and went on to manage many restaurants with well-known names — Bob Evans, KFC, Brown Derby Roadhouse, Wendy’s, Friendly’s and Pizza Hut – but he always wanted one with his own name on the sign.
Very good place to eat! had the spaghetti tonight with my lovely wife, and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere.Bob N.
And finally, an opportunity arose
In 2012, Frank discovered that the the former Alliance Family Restaurant was available. He spent weeks renovating it…and months praying for his new restaurant’s success. Frank’s Family Restaurant quickly became a staple in the Alliance community.
God answered my prayers. To finally have my dream come true has been great! People tell us we’re upscale without upscale pricing. I’ve had customers give me comment cards that say the atmosphere is so nice we should serve wine on the menu! We won’t be doing that, but that’s a huge compliment!
Hands on with a big heart and hard work
Frank is hands-on, whether he’s out greeting guests or back in the kitchen.
Even though I’ve hired cooks and prep people, I’m always back there getting in the grind with them, too.
Frank’s restaurant management expertise helps him hire an outstanding staff of professionals who share his passion to provide excellent food and hospitality in his restaurant and catering services. He attributes his team’s talent to his ongoing and growing success.
Frank’s Family Restaurant is more than just a restaurant. It’s a community of customers – first-time and longtime – who can count on being treated like family.
